Odom's Tennessee Pride Implements ASSISTics Finished Goods Management Solution in Little Rock, Arkansas
Paoli, PA - March 01, 2006 - ASSIST incorporated, a niche supplier of warehouse
management and software solutions for the ADAGE user community, today announces
that Odom's Tennessee Pride Sausage, Inc., a leading provider of breakfast
sausage products, has successfully implemented the ASSISTics finished goods
management solution.
Located in Little Rock, Arkansas, Tennessee Pride's state of the art facility
prepares work-in-process product for another Tennessee Pride manufacturing plant
and supplies finished goods to Tennessee Pride's third party distribution
warehouses. Key to the success of the implementation has been the ASSISTics
pallet tracking solution which enables a single scan identification of all of
the pallet's contents.
"Pallet tracking truly mimicked the way that Odom's manages their inventory,"
says Steve Carr, senior implementation consultant with ASSIST. "By implementing
pallet tracking, we were able to significantly simplify execution and provide
the plant management with a clean mechanism for reconciling production and
inventory putaway. It was a logical extension to the work we had already done in
capturing production inputs and outputs."
"By using ASSIST's barcoding and warehouse management solutions, we have
significantly reduced the complexity of product movement transactions in the
Little Rock facility," says Mike Hader, Director of Information Technologies at
Odom's Tennessee Pride Sausage. "ASSIST's modularity and flexibility allows us
to streamline operations and accounting functions pertaining to both the plant
and the warehouse. Our users are very happy with the new system. The system is
state-of-the-art in terms of software design and integrates easily into our
Adage ERP system."
Managing logistics is a key part of the business in Little Rock. Implementing
ASSISTics' unique warehouse transfer shipping functionality in conjunction with
pallet tracking has significantly reduced the effort needed to ship product out
of the plant. The trucks can leave as soon as the trailers are full.
"Our success at Odom's is a by-product of our ongoing strategy of diligently
identifying business requirements and then delivering solutions that address
them," says Charlie Pell, Business Development Director at ASSIST. "Our detailed
understanding of ADAGE allows us to provide our customers with exactly what they
need in a timely and cost effective manner. Our dedication to simplicity makes
implementation a snap."
